Insects, Arachnids and others
Tinalandia is the ideal environment for a mix of Andean and tropical insects and arachnids. as well as for the specialist and researchers that study them. Residents of the biodiverse Tinalandia include tarantulas, snails larger than a tennis ball, and a newly discovered species of salamander, appropriately named after Tinalandia.
Numerous new species have been found here, and many museums, including the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C., house specimens found at Tinalandia.
